If you’re using 3D Measure Me, you’re not here to guess.
You’re here to see real progress, stay motivated, and trust the numbers.
The good news?
Getting highly accurate results is simple.
The important part is understanding why we ask you to do things a certain way, because every small detail helps turn four photos into precise, meaningful measurements.
Below is a quick, clear guide to help you get the best possible scan every time.
Why Accuracy = Motivation
Your body changes long before the mirror or scale shows it.
Centimeters are lost. Shape tightens. Muscle builds.
But if your scan isn’t captured correctly, those changes can be harder to see and when progress feels unclear, motivation drops. That’s why accuracy matters. When you scan correctly, you get results you can trust, track, and stay committed to.
How to Scan Correctly (and Why Each Step Matters)
Watch the following video to how to scan correctly or read the instructions below for more information.
Wear Fitted Clothing (and No Shoes)
Wear fitted gym gear, swimwear, or underwear and scan barefoot or in socks.
Our system measures what the camera can see. Baggy clothing hides body shape, making you appear larger than you are and reducing accuracy. Fitted clothing allows the app to capture your true body contours and deliver precise measurements.
Tie Up Long Hair
If your hair is longer than shoulder length, tie it up in a bun or high ponytail (a bun is best).
This helps the system clearly identify your neck and upper back, which directly improves the accuracy of your measurements and body fat estimation.
Stand in the A-Pose
Stand tall with:
- Head facing forward
- Feet shoulder-width apart
- Arms slightly away from your body
- Palms facing forward
This pose separates each body part visually, making it easier for the system to correctly identify and measure your body shape.
Fill the Frame
Stand close enough so your body fills most of the screen.
Use the on-screen body outline as your guide.
The further away you stand, the more even tiny errors can impact the final result. Staying closer improves precision and consistency.
Make Sure Your Whole Body Is Visible
Head, hands and feet must be fully visible on screen.
If parts of your body are cut off, the system may need to estimate them, and estimates reduce accuracy. A complete view ensures your avatar and measurements are as precise as possible.
Use a Plain, Contrasting Background
Choose a simple background that contrasts with your clothing.
For example, avoid wearing white clothes against a white wall or standing in front of busy patterns. Clear contrast helps the system separate your body from the background cleanly and accurately.
Keep Your Phone Upright
Keep your phone as vertical as possible.
Extreme angles distort images. For example, placing your phone on the floor and tilting it upward makes your upper body appear larger than your lower body, and that distortion will appear in your avatar and measurements.
Turn Your Volume Up
In selfie mode, the app provides spoken instructions to guide you through the scan.
Turning your volume up ensures you don’t miss any prompts that help you stay in the correct position.
Use Selfie Mode the Smart Way
Place your phone on a table or chair, not the floor.
Lean it against something stable, like a water bottle, so it stays upright. Raising the phone helps you stand closer, maintain better angles, and avoid image distortion.
Small Details. Big Difference.
Each of these steps might seem minor, but together they ensure your scans are:
- More accurate
- More consistent
- More motivating
When you can clearly see your progress, you’re far more likely to stay consistent, and consistency is what delivers results.
